Job Description

A Database Administrator will provide direction and expertise to the organization regarding architecture, design and support of the database technologies and related data warehouse and development tools to ensure quality of service.

Responsibilities​​​

• A Database Administrator will provide direction and expertise to the organization regarding architecture, design and support of database technologies and related data warehouse and development tools to ensure quality of service

• Install, configure, and maintain all Database Server instances across development, staging, and production environments

• Ensure Database Server topology, configuration, and maintenance are designed and executed to meet SLA objectives

• Advise on DB design, tuning options, and best practices

• Troubleshoot Server service outages as they occur, including after hours and weekends

• Configure Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms

• Baseline system performance and monitor for deviation, recommending and implementing improvements to slow running queries

• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes

• Previous experience in production environments and being on-call
